  • Are IST Customs the same as Irish Customs Authorities?
    IST Customs are a subsidiary of Irish Shipping & Transport, we can complete Import & Export declarations to Irish Customs on your behalf we are not Irish Customs Authorities.
  • Can IST Customs advise where my package is? Why it is held with customs?
    IST Customs can only help track shipments they have organised shipping on or are requested to complete customs clearance on. You should always ask your shipper to open an enquiry on their side should a package go missing. ​If goods are coming through An Post your can Track here https://www.anpost.com/Post-Parcels/Track/Search you may need to contact them directly if there has been no movement or notification. IST can complete Customs Clearance for Postal shipments where people have been notified they require an Agent to clear on their behalf.
  • Do I have to pay Customs taxes?

  • I have a business, how do I become Brexit ready?"
    You will need an EORI number (contact the Revenue via ROS) You should appoint a customs broker to work on your behalf. Ensure the shipping company you use are ready to do there part.   • How does Customs determine the amount you pay for VAT & Duty?
    Most frequent used VAT is 23%, 13.5% or 0% depending on goods you are importing. Customs with take the commercial value of goods + any shipping costs Incurred by the importer when working out Customs Taxes.
  • What is an EORI number and do I need to register for one?
    If you are a trader who imports or exports goods into or out of the European Union (EU), you will need an EORI number. This number is valid throughout the EU. It is used as a common reference number for interactions with the customs authorities in any Member State.
